As a member of ACEC Utah, you have the power to make real change. The quickest way to create change in the current economic climate is to lobby for a successful workplace in a post-pandemic world that will aid in the economic recovery. As part of the Rescue, Rebuild, Recover initiative, we value an infrastructure-first agenda to ensure long-term prosperity. Now let’s get to work by taking the following steps:

Support the FAST Act

The FAST Act encourages Congress to provide critical funds to upgrade current roads, bridges, transit and rail systems following years of deferred maintenance. Modernizing these transportation networks will support population growth, new technology and freight movement while improving public safety. This act is largely supported by user fees, making it important to continue to educate other members.

Prioritize Water Infrastructure

We believe Congress should increase funding for the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act to improve community drinking water and wastewater needs. This investment is key to helping states recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and to address health concerns. Allocating $1 billion toward water infrastructure could create more than 23,000 jobs in a country with the highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression.
